Benefits of Grass Fed Milk

Whilst Organic milk has important benefits, Organic 365 days grass fed cows milk is far more precious and less readily available. Studies have shown grass fed milk results in a higher quality milk source than grain fed milk¹.

An Organic milk source, which is also grass-fed 365 days of the year, provides an even more beneficial and powerful combination. The nutritional benefits of Grass Fed Milk over grain fed milk, are well known and documented.

Higher levels of Omega 3 fatty acids

The three main long chain omega-3 fatty acids are alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Being a long-chain and essential fatty acid, rather than a short-chain fatty acid has its advantages. Long-chain fatty acids are far more able to be readily absorbed and can only be obtained through diet.

Better Balance of Omega 3 and Omega 6 Fatty Acids

Omega 6 is another essential fatty acid. Studies have shown having a 50/50 balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids provide important health benefits. As you can see from this chart, grass fed cows produce milk with a 50/50 balance compared to those fed grains.²

Higher levels of Vitamin E & Beta Carotene

Vitamin E is an important fat-soluble antioxidant and plays an important role in limiting free-radical damage, as well as helping to support immunity. Beta carotene is important as it is essential for producing Vitamin A. We need vitamin A for healthy skin and mucus membranes, our immune system, and good eye health and vision.

Higher levels of CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid)

CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) is a type of fat associated with a wide variety of health benefits, including immune, inflammatory system support and improved bone mass. Grass Fed cow milk has been found to have 500% more CLA in grass fed cows milk compared with milk from regular cows milk.

For mums who are able to, breastfeeding is best for babies. It delivers many benefits for both mum and baby. Breastmilk contains all the nutrients your growing bub needs to thrive, especially in the first 6 months of life, plus antibodies to help them fight infections.

It’s important for pregnant and breastfeeding mums to maintain good nutrition. Deciding to use a combination of breast and bottle-feeding for an extended period may reduce your own breast milk supply, and reversing your decision may be difficult.

When using infant formula, follow the feeding guide and preparation directions carefully. Improper use or incorrect preparation of infant formula can make your baby ill.

Consult your doctor or health care professional for advice prior to using the formula to feed your baby. You should also consider the social and financial implications before deciding to use infant formula.
